The "best" quality I can select is 1.17GB per hour, and everything looks like crap. The hal install from Software Manager is no longer available so there does not appear to be a workaround for most of the linux browsers. Firefox / Opera / Chromium for Linux are not supported by Amazon Prime video. The solution is therefore to install Google Chrome for Linux (not Chromium) from the Google website. i use chrome, not chromium.

I am happily watching Amazon Prime Video when it Amazon Prime should accept Ubuntu connections, and it probably will select other Linux distributions including Debian, Fedora and Arch just as easily. Once you update your browser by using Ubuntu’s own repositories, if you were using an older version, head back to Amazon Prime Video.
